Ask for a complete inventory
List the website files, approved content, media licenses, domain account and connected providers. Include the most recent published version and the information needed to rebuild it. A screenshot alone is not a usable website export.
Separate access from ownership
An agency may have delegated access to publish without owning the domain or payment account. Record those boundaries and remove unnecessary access when responsibilities change. Never transfer secrets through a task description or an exported website bundle.
Verify before switching
Check page URLs, redirects, forms, email DNS records and the mobile layout in the proposed destination. A successful static build does not prove message delivery. Agree on the launch window, verification steps and how an issue will be escalated.
Turn the note into a next action.
Write down what is true today, who owns the next decision and what evidence would show the work is complete. Start small enough that the team can follow through.
